The Indian Startup Horizon is set to see many 'Rising Startup Stars' in 2024, as the South Asia Chapter of Entrepreneurs Organization (EO) declared the 8 semi-finalists for the prestigious Global Student Entrepreneur Awards (GSEA) India. This significant announcement marks a pivotal moment in the journey towards recognizing and celebrating youthful ingenuity and visionary business acumen. Organized by EO (South Asia Chapter of EO), this illustrious event sets the stage for innovation and entrepreneurial brilliance, promising a celebration like no other.

EO GSEA India's Semi-Final 2024 Contenders!

In a thrilling announcement, eight outstanding students have emerged as the semi-finalists set to compete in the India finals of the EO GSEA India 2024. Hailing from diverse regions, the impressive lineup includes Pratik Raghuwanshi from EO New Delhi, Nishkarsh Srivastava representing EO Noida, Mitansh Khurana from EO Mumbai, Shubhangi Desai of EO Nagpur, Adnan Abbasi ABBASI representing EO Bhopal, Mosin Shaikh from EO Pune, Ayush Singhal representing EO Bangalore, Gopichand Anumolu of Navi Mumbai, and Rahul Khatri from EO Kolkata. 

The 8 semi-finalist startups have been meticulously chosen from a pool of 40 startups representing various chapters of EO across the nation. Following a rigorous selection process, 15 judges deliberated during a day-long event where each participant presented their pitches.

The esteemed jury panel includes prominent names including Jital Shah, Rajesh Joshi, Samrat Jain, Rikant Pitti from EaseMyTrip, Aditi Chowdhary, Vinamra Agarwal, Neil Agarwal, Advay Jhunjhunwala, Amarjeet Kaur, Hameet Sawhney, Sudeep Goenka, Arjun Nijhawan, Anant Kanoi, Vandana Seth and Sahil Jindal.

The Journey Continues: Way Forward For The Semi-Finalists of EO GSEA

Now, these semi-finalists will progress to the finals, where they will face even greater challenges and opportunities. The GSEA India finals will be held in Bhopal on March 15, 2024, where the country's brightest minds will compete for the coveted title.

Among the contestants, India Finalist will secure a cash prize of Rs 50,000 and earn the privilege to represent the nation in the EO GSEA Global Finals. This global showdown, set in Singapore, will witness fierce competition among winners from over 50 countries, marking a true testament to the spirit of entrepreneurship on a global scale.

The global finals will take place later this year, the dates and destination for the same is not revealed yet. 

Prabhakar Kadavasal, Regional Chair, EO South Asia, said, "Everyone is a winner. All 40 participants brought forth a wealth of thought, innovation, and thorough analysis of the ideas and problems they aim to address. It's truly encouraging to witness."

Journey to GSEA Championship 

Becoming the GSEA Global Champion and receiving recognition and accolades is a rigorous yet rewarding journey, encompassing five pivotal steps:

• Eligibility Criteria

To embark on this journey, you must be an undergraduate or graduate college/university student with a company that has been operating for at least 6 months, generating a minimum of US$500 in revenue or having received at least US$1,000 in investment.

• Local Competition Application and Participation

The first step involves applying and competing in a local competition. This initial phase sets the stage for showcasing your entrepreneurial prowess on a smaller scale.

• Victory at the Local Level

Upon winning a local competition, you advance to the next level of competition. This achievement validates your business acumen and propels you forward in the pursuit of excellence.

• National Recognition and Advancement

As you emerge victorious as your country’s top competitor, you earn the opportunity to represent your nation on a global stage. Advancing to the GSEA Global Finals means competing against the world’s best student entrepreneurs, a testament to your exceptional abilities and dedication.

• Global Triumph and Acclaim

The ultimate and final step in this journey is to claim victory at the GSEA Global Finals. Winning the award not only crowns you as the GSEA Global Champion but also brings forth widespread recognition and accolades, solidifying your status as a trailblazing entrepreneur on the world stage.
