Today India is the 5th largest economy in the world and in the next few years, it will go on to become one of the top 3 economies in the world. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said this in his inaugural address at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit highlighting that new opportunities are constantly being created for investment in all the sectors including E-Mobility, StartUps, Blue Economy, Green Energy etc.

The 10th edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 was inaugurated the Prime Minister Modi at Mahatma Mandir, Gandhinagar. The theme of this year's summit, 'Gateway to the Future,' aims to celebrate two decades of Vibrant Gujarat's success and serves as a platform for business collaboration, knowledge sharing, and strategic partnerships for inclusive growth and sustainable development.

Startups at the Forefront

In his opening remarks, the Prime Minister highlighted India's rapid progress, citing the nation's commitment to the principles of 'One World, One Family, One Future.' Expressing confidence in India's economic growth, he stated, "Global institutions are upbeat about India's economic growth."

He pointed that India has the third largest startup ecosystem in the world with 1.15 lakh registered startups.

India's Role as 'Vishwa Mitra'

PM Modi emphasized India's evolving role as a 'Vishwa Mitra' (global friend) in a fast-changing world. He noted the country's commitment to common collective goals and described India as an important pillar of stability, a trusted partner, and a contributor to global welfare.

Economic Achievements, Structural Reforms and Future Prospects

The Prime Minister underscored the structural reforms of the past decade, enhancing India's economic capacity, capability, and competitiveness. He credited these reforms for the robust banking system, ease of doing business, GST implementation, and diversification of the global supply chain.

Looking ahead, PM Modi outlined India's priorities, including sustainable industries, futuristic technologies, renewable energy, and semiconductors. He predicted India's ascent to one of the top three economies globally in the coming years, a sentiment echoed by various international rating agencies.

Investments and Opportunities: Calling Upon The Global Leaders

The Prime Minister invited global investors to explore opportunities in India, emphasizing the government's focus on structural reforms and improvements in logistics and transportation. He highlighted the extensive network of airports, national highways, metro systems, and dedicated freight corridors, presenting significant investment opportunities.

Vibrant Gujarat as a Gateway to the Future

In concluding his address, PM Modi urged investors to consider Vibrant Gujarat as a gateway to new possibilities in every corner of India. He emphasized that the summit is not just about investing in India but also shaping a new generation of creators and consumers.

The Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, conceptualized in 2003, has evolved into a global forum for business collaboration and knowledge sharing. This year's edition celebrates "20 Years of Vibrant Gujarat as the Summit of Success" and showcases investment opportunities in North-Eastern regions.

Future-Focused Events

Various events, including seminars and conferences on Industry 4.0, Technology and Innovation, Sustainable Manufacturing, Green Hydrogen, Electric Mobility, and Renewable Energy, will take place during the summit. As India embraces its 'Gateway to the Future,' Vibrant Gujarat continues to play a crucial role in fostering global partnerships and sustainable development.

Global Leaders and Industry Captains Speak

The event saw the presence of dignitaries such as H.R.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates & Ruler of Abu Dhabi, Filipe Nyusi, President of Mozambique, and José Ramos-Horta, President of Timor Leste, among others.

International leaders, such as Shin Hosaka of Japan, Ibraheem Yoosef al Mubarak of Saudi Arabia, and Petr Fiala, Prime Minister of the Czech Republic, also addressed the gathering, highlighting their countries' partnerships with India and the significance of Vibrant Gujarat as a global platform for economic development.

The summit also featured addresses from prominent industry leaders, including Lakshmi Mittal of ArcelorMittal, Mukesh Ambani of Reliance Group, and Toshihiro Suzuki, President of Suzuki Motor Corporation. These business leaders praised the Prime Minister's vision, emphasizing their support for India's economic and technological advancements.
