'Exit Polls Fabricated by BJP Office', Claims Sanjay Singh

AAP MP Sanjay Singh has criticized the recent exit polls, asserting that they were concocted within the BJP office. He expressed disbelief over the projection that the BJP would secure a 34% vote share in Tamil Nadu and that the AAP would win only 0-2 seats in Punjab. Referring to the 'Janta ka exit poll' figures presented by INDIA alliance leaders at a recent meeting, Singh claimed that they predict an INDIA alliance victory in over 295 seats. He sarcastically remarked that he was surprised the BJP's exit poll projections only granted them 400 seats, suggesting they might as well have inflated the number to 700, aligning with the concept of 'Akhand Bharat'. Singh accused the BJP of significant foul play, stating that the skewed exit poll numbers are an attempt to cover it up.

Coimbatore Exit Polls 2024: Tamil Nadu BJP President Annamalai Forecasted to Win

The BJP is poised to make significant inroads in Tamil Nadu's Lok Sabha elections, with state party president K Annamalai likely to secure a victory in the Coimbatore constituency, according to the News18 Mega Exit Poll released on Saturday.

The poll predicts that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) could win between 1-3 seats in Tamil Nadu. Meanwhile, the Congress is expected to secure 8-10 seats, but it is the INDIA bloc ally, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), that is expected to lead the alliance with a predicted 36-39 seats. The opposition AIADMK, however, might face challenges, with exit polls suggesting they may only win 0-2 seats.

Traditionally seen as a minor player in Tamil Nadu’s political landscape dominated by Dravidian parties, the BJP's fortunes have surged under the leadership of K Annamalai. His assertive and aggressive campaign strategy, particularly his "En Mann, En Makkal" (My Land, My People) padayatra, has garnered significant attention and bolstered the party’s presence. This political journey, which lasted nearly seven months, culminated with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's attendance, further boosting the BJP's profile.

Political analysts attribute Annamalai's rising popularity to his strong criticism of the ruling DMK on various public issues, his assertive demeanor, and his approachable nature, which have resonated with voters seeking an alternative to the DMK and AIADMK.

Coimbatore, a key constituency in western Tamil Nadu, has been a focal point of this election. Annamalai has faced stiff competition from Dravidian heavyweights and the Tamil nationalist party Naam Tamilar Katchi in a four-way contest, with anti-DMK-Congress votes split among three parties.

Incumbent MP PR Natarajan of the CPM is facing anti-incumbency sentiments and criticism for being disconnected from his constituents. The DMK's decision to contest in Coimbatore could consolidate anti-AIADMK and anti-BJP votes. However, both BJP and AIADMK have strong support bases in the region, making this a highly competitive race.
