The number of women entrepreneurs hailing from the NorthEast region as per Startup India website and the Government of Arunachal Pradesh is more than 550. In a bid to encourage more women to begin their entrepreneurial journey, Startup India along with Ministry of Development of NorthEast Region has launched the Women Enterprise Development Scheme.

What are the Key Components of the Women Enterprise Development Scheme?

  • Term Loan Assistance: Eligible entrepreneurs can receive a term loan, a substantial 75% of the entire project cost. However, it's important to note that the project cost must not exceed Rs. 15 lakhs, a figure inclusive of working capital.

  • Promoter's Contribution: The scheme emphasizes the commitment of the entrepreneurs themselves. A minimum of 25% of the project cost must be contributed by the promoters, highlighting their dedication to the venture's success.

How to apply for the WED scheme?

Road, Dispur, Guwahati – 781006. The application process follows the prescribed format of NEDFi, ensuring a seamless journey towards empowerment.
