With an outlay of ₹10,000 crores until 2025-26, this scheme provides financial, technical, and business support to micro entrepreneurs, enabling them to formalize and upgrade their operations.
As of October 2024, 1,08,580 micro food processing enterprises have received assistance under the PMFME scheme. By helping small businesses scale up and modernize, the government is ensuring these enterprises become more competitive, improving efficiency and contributing significantly to local economies.
PLISFPI: Positioning India as a Global Food Manufacturing Hub
The Production Linked Incentive Scheme for Food Processing Industry (PLISFPI) is aimed at transforming India into a global leader in food processing. With an outlay of ₹10,900 crores over six years, this scheme seeks to support the creation of global food manufacturing champions and boost the international presence of Indian food brands.
Since its launch in 2021, 171 food processing companies have received assistance under PLISFPI.
