In a major step to take Indian innovation to the global stage, the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) has facilitated the participation of 25 high-potential startups from India in a strategic immersion program in Silicon Valley, USA. The initiative, conducted under STPI’s ‘Leap Ahead Global Connect’ program, provided a platform for Indian startups to pitch their innovations to global investors, attend mentoring sessions, and explore international business opportunities.
The program has delivered early success. Out of the 25 startups nurtured by STPI, 13 were recognised with the prestigious TiE50 Awards at TiEcon 2025, an event regarded as one of the largest gatherings of global entrepreneurs, investors, and thought leaders.
Global Connect Initiative Aims to Bridge Indian Startups with the World
STPI’s ‘Leap Ahead’ program is built on three pillars mentorship, funding, and global connections and the recent visit to Silicon Valley focused on the third: helping Indian startups connect with international stakeholders.
As part of this initiative, startups participated in a series of curated events, including a Startup Bootcamp, Fundraising Day, and pitching sessions with top venture capital firms in the U.S. These sessions provided participants a chance to engage with global tech leaders, investors, and mentors to gain deeper insights into scaling their ventures beyond Indian borders.
Exposure to TiEcon 2025 and Tech Industry Leaders
A major highlight of the program was the participation of Indian startups in TiEcon 2025, held in California. The event featured global industry leaders including Satya Nadella (CEO, Microsoft), Shantanu Narayen (CEO, Adobe), Lip-Bu Tan (CEO, Intel), and Vasu Jakkal (CVP, Microsoft), among others. It served as a platform for Indian founders to network with key players in the global startup and technology ecosystem.
STPI Director General Arvind Kumar highlighted the significance of the initiative, saying, “STPI is playing a catalytic role in revolutionizing the Indian startup ecosystem by helping entrepreneurs turn their ideas into reality. Our mission goes beyond providing international exposure it’s about showcasing India’s technological prowess and empowering startups to make their mark on the global stage.”
