Union Minister of Commerce & Industry, Piyush Goyal, underscored the immense potential presented by India's ambitious startup ecosystem and its young demographic dividend. With a population of 1.4 billion, largely composed of young individuals, India stands at the forefront of economic opportunities. He said this while addressing the '44th Annual Function' of the Consumer Electronics and Appliances Manufacturers Association (CEAMA) in New Delhi.

Commendation for Consumer Electronics Industry

During the event, Goyal commended the noteworthy contributions of the consumer electronics industry in India. He stressed the vital need for collaboration between industry players and the government to achieve collective objectives. The Minister emphasized the importance of international engagement, competitiveness, and meeting consumer demands for high-quality and competitively-priced products.

Prioritizing Quality and Supporting Indian Ecosystem

He emphasized the issuance of Quality Control Orders (QCOs) to benefit consumers and the industry alike, promoting the use of Indian-made components and products. Becoming Viksit Bharat Ambassadors

The Minister shared Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call for people to become Viksit Bharat Ambassadors. Goyal encouraged attendees to join the program, emphasizing that Viksit Bharat envisions a corruption-free India with a shed colonial mindset.

He highlighted the vision of people-powered development, led by the 140 Crore Indians, showcasing a commitment to India's journey towards becoming a developed nation.

Global Recognition and Economic Indicators

Goyal shed light on India's growing influence and significance, attracting global attention and offering unique marketing propositions. He highlighted positive economic indicators, including India's success in curbing double-digit inflation to a benchmark of 4% plus or minus 2%. The Minister stressed that lower inflation and reduced interest costs are pivotal elements in India's path towards becoming a developed nation.

The Minister also highlighted various social welfare initiatives led by the government, such as providing free food grains to millions of Indians, ensuring food security, and eradicating hunger. He emphasized the commitment to providing housing for the underprivileged, electrification of every village and household, and the expansion of healthcare services.

Goyal underscored the government's efforts towards women-led development and advocated for the active participation and recognition of women in India's development journey. He also praised the success of the 'Digital India' initiative, pointing out the rapid rise in internet users, especially through smartphone usage, and its transformative impact on rural areas.
