IIT Kanpur to host annual Entrepreneurial festival "E-SUMMIT"

Entrepreneurship Cell – a student-run entrepreneurship body from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur is

hosting the 11th edition of its annual Entrepreneurial festival - "E-SUMMIT" from 13th-15th January, 2023 in a continuum effort to provide a platform to stimulate discussions on ideas that turn issues into opportunities to revolutionize society. 

The theme for the much-awaited event this year is - Renaissance and Rise. E- Cell, IIT Kanpur's trademark event, UpStart Nationals, which is a vital component of the E-Summit’22, saw an overwhelming response from startups. The

National business model competition saw over 250+ registrations across various cities. 

42 startups out of those got to pitch their ideas to top-notch investment firms like Indian Angel Network, IvyCamp Ventures, Atal Incubation Centre - CCMB, Chiratae Ventures, Ankur Capital, Orios Venture Partners, IAN Fund, Hyderabad Angels, Blume Ventures and SucSEED Ventures. 

The UpStart Finale will be conducted at IIT Kanpur during E-Summit’22, following intense mentoring and brainstorming provided to the startups by experienced mentors. E-Summit’22 strives to be the one-stop platform for bringing together everyone associated with the entrepreneurial ecosystem - ideators, pitchers, VCs, mentors, and enthusiasts; all under one roof for empowering ideas that have the potential to play a key role in shaping the future of the country.

A series of talk sessions, workshops, and competitions, each catering to a different segment of the audience will complement in achieving this objective. Talk sessions under E-Summit’22 are designed to educate and inspire young

budding entrepreneurs, to take the leap of faith, and start their own startups. With workshops and hands-on training sessions by esteemed mentors lined up, E-Summit’22 will offer a platform to hone creative, innovative, and feasible ideas/solutions relating to day-to-day problems.

Along with the UpStart business model competition, a Startup Expo will highlight the E-Summit’22, where startups, investors, speakers, organizations, from all over India will participate to reflect on innovative ideas. The event will see brightest minds competing against each other to grab a chance to network with the best of the best, earn equity-less-funding and incubation opportunities and also winning rewards along the way. 

The competitions such as ‘Be an Angel’, ‘Decrypt’, ‘Sell your Sole’, ‘Pitchers’, ‘Stock the Stock’, will put decisiveness, analytical thinking, business acumen, and communications skills of the participants to test. All the participants will stand a chance to widen their knowledge about the startup ecosystem with mentoring from industry experts, along with the chance to win cash prizes.
