DPIIT will launch Special Campaign 5.0 from October 2–31, 2025, focusing on Swachhata, e-waste management, record review, and pendency disposal across government offices.

DPIIT to Roll Out Special Campaign 5

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, will launch Special Campaign 5.0 from October 2 to October 31, 2025. The campaign will focus on cleanliness, e-waste management, and disposal of pending references.

The initiative follows the success of earlier editions held between 2021 and 2024. It aims to strengthen cleanliness practices in DPIIT headquarters, attached and subordinate offices, PSUs, and autonomous organizations.

DPIIT's Swachh Bharat Plan

The campaign is being conducted in two phases. The preparatory phase began on September 15 and will continue till September 30, 2025. DPIIT has identified 70 sites across the country, including field and branch offices, where activities are already in progress. These include record management, space utilization, and sustainable waste practices.

Focus Areas of Special Campaign 5.0

  • Disposal of e-waste using scientific and environment-friendly methods.

  • Review and weeding out of old records to improve efficiency.

  • Space optimization by converting unused areas into functional spaces.

  • Sustainability initiatives, such as renewable energy use and creative reuse of waste.

Outcomes of Special Campaign 4.0

Last year’s Special Campaign 4.0 delivered the following results:

  • 58,545 physical files reviewed, with 15,816 weeded out.

  • 15,847 sq. ft. of office space freed, generating ₹16.39 lakh revenue.

  • 300 cleanliness drives conducted at 70 locations nationwide.

  • Public grievances and appeals addressed, along with rule simplifications.

Innovative Practices in Earlier Campaigns

DPIIT offices and institutions have also taken up creative sustainability measures in past campaigns:

  • National Institutes of Design (Andhra Pradesh & Haryana): Launched “waste-to-art” projects.

  • National Council for Cement and Building Materials (Ballabhgarh): Installed a 450 KWH solar rooftop system.

  • Central Pulp & Paper Research Institute (Saharanpur): Distributed notebooks made from agricultural waste and school furniture made from scrap.

Through Special Campaign 5.0, DPIIT aims to deepen cleanliness practices, clear pendency, and promote sustainability across its offices, in line with the government’s vision of Swachh Bharat and sustainable governance.
