The announcements, coming on the same day that RIL confirmed Jio’s IPO timeline, underscore Mukesh Ambani’s vision of making Reliance not just a telecom and retail giant but also a cornerstone of India’s AI-driven future.

Reliance–Meta: Democratizing Enterprise AI with Llama

RIL revealed a joint venture (JV) with Meta to develop and scale enterprise AI solutions built on Meta’s open-source Llama models. With an initial investment of ₹855 crore (~US$100 million), Reliance will hold a 70% stake while Meta will own 30%.

The JV aims to create ready-to-deploy AI platforms and tools tailored for Indian enterprises and SMBs across diverse sectors — from sales and marketing to IT operations, customer service, and finance.

Key offerings will include:

  • Enterprise AI Platform-as-a-Service: a secure full-stack environment to customize, deploy, and govern generative AI models.

  • Pre-configured AI solutions: vertical- and industry-specific use cases designed for rapid adoption.

Highlighting the significance of the partnership, Ambani said:

“Partnering with Meta brings our vision of providing AI to every Indian and enterprise to life. We will democratize enterprise-grade AI — enabling SMBs to innovate faster, operate more efficiently, and compete globally.”

Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg echoed this optimism, calling it a step towards putting Llama models into real-world enterprise use cases and deepening Meta’s footprint in India.

On the same day, RIL also announced the expansion of its strategic partnership with Google Cloud, aimed at establishing a state-of-the-art AI-focused cloud region in Jamnagar, Gujarat.

The new facility will be designed and built by Reliance, powered by its green energy initiatives, and integrated with Jio’s high-capacity fiber network. Google Cloud will bring in its AI hypercomputer and fully optimized AI stack — offering generative AI models, a development platform, and AI-powered applications.

This dedicated cloud region will provide the scale, security, and reliability needed for India’s fast-growing retail, digital, and industrial ecosystems. It will also serve enterprises, SMBs, startups, and public sector organizations looking to leverage AI at hyperscale.

Ambani emphasized the transformational potential of this partnership:

“Just as Jio and Google came together to democratize the internet for every Indian, we will now democratize intelligence for every Indian.”

Google CEO Sundar Pichai added:

“This is only the beginning, and we look forward to building India’s AI future together.”

Reliance AI Partnerships

Taken together, the two partnerships mark a historic inflection point for Reliance and India’s AI roadmap. By aligning with Meta’s AI research and Google’s infrastructure expertise, Reliance is positioning itself as the primary enabler of enterprise AI adoption in India.

  • The JV with Meta provides affordable, customizable AI solutions for businesses of all sizes.

  • The Jamnagar cloud region with Google Cloud lays down the infrastructure backbone for AI-driven innovation at scale.

For Reliance, these partnerships also complement Jio’s consumer-facing initiatives and reinforce its role as a digital-first conglomerate with global ambitions.

With AI emerging as the defining technology of the decade, Reliance’s moves at the AGM send a clear message: the company intends to be at the heart of India’s AI revolution. From building platforms and tools to setting up hyperscale infrastructure, Reliance is aligning itself with global tech leaders to make AI accessible, scalable, and impactful across India’s economy.

As Ambani put it, this is about “democratizing intelligence for every Indian.”
