In preparation for the upcoming G20 conference, the Uttar Pradesh Government has begun efforts to beautify cities and municipal bodies across the state.

Urban Development Minister AK Sharma announced at a press conference that a total of 11 meetings will be held in various cities including Varanasi, Lucknow, Agra, and Greater Noida, with the goal of boosting economic development and raising India's profile within the G-20.

The government has also launched the UP G-city campaign to develop cities into global cities and is inviting all stakeholders to participate in the preparations. Additionally, a walkathon-marathon will be held in each district on January 21, with CM Yogi Adityanath flagging off the event in Lucknow. Cultural programs, including a special emphasis on food and clothing, will also be held during the G-20 meetings to showcase the state's rich cultural heritage to visiting foreign delegates.

In addition to the beautification efforts, the Urban Development Department has also directed all municipalities and local government bodies to ensure that their areas are clean and well-maintained before the G-20 conference. This includes a focus on maintaining public spaces, such as parks and roads, and ensuring that all facilities, including public restrooms, are in good condition. The government has also initiated a campaign to plant trees and improve green spaces in cities and towns across the state.

The G-20 conference is being seen as a major opportunity for the state of Uttar Pradesh to showcase its economic and cultural strengths to the world. The conference is expected to attract a large number of foreign delegates and business leaders, and the government is working to ensure that the state presents the best possible image to these visitors. This includes showcasing the state's digital empowerment initiatives, cultural tourism, and efforts to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to the main conference, various side events and exhibitions will also be held to showcase the state's rich cultural heritage, as well as its economic and industrial development. These events will feature displays of traditional handicrafts, art, and cuisine, and will provide an opportunity for local businesses and entrepreneurs to connect with potential investors and partners.

Overall, the G-20 conference is seen as a major opportunity for the state of Uttar Pradesh to raise its profile on the global stage and attract investment and economic development. The government is working hard to ensure that the state is well-prepared for the conference and presents the best possible image to visiting delegates and business leaders.
