A Jodhpur Startup Became a Make in India Success Story Shared by Piyush Goyal

In Jodhpur, Rajasthan, a local startup making stainless steel water bottles is showing how Indian entrepreneurs can compete with the best in the world. Nanobot Houseware Solutions Pvt. Ltd., which makes high-quality vacuum insulated bottles, has caught the attention of Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal, who has called it an inspiring example of the Make in India mission.

The Minister shared Nanobot’s story on X (formerly Twitter), praising “home-grown startups rooted in the spirit of Make in India” that are now “dreaming bigger and bolder.” His post came after Vikash Jain, founder of Nanobot, shared the company’s journey on LinkedIn, crediting India’s startup-friendly policies and events for their growth.

A Journey That Started with a Simple Idea

Nanobot’s story began in 2016 when Vikash Jain decided to make world-class stainless steel bottles right here in India. In 2018, the company officially started operations in Jodhpur. The goal was clear — create durable, safe, and eco-friendly bottles while giving jobs to local people and supporting Indian suppliers.

The company uses 304 and 201 series stainless steel and works with designers to create bottles that are both practical and attractive. Today, Nanobot employs 51–200 people and has built a place for itself in the growing market for reusable bottles, selling not just in India but also to international buyers.

The Role of Startup Mahakumbh and QCO

Vikash Jain says events and policies have played a big role in their progress. At Startup Mahakumbh 2025, Nanobot got a chance to connect with the right people, learn from experts, and understand how to grow further.

They also credit the Quality Control Order (QCO) policy for setting high product standards that help Indian manufacturers compete globally. Jain thanked DPIIT and the Ministry of Commerce and Industry for supporting startups like theirs.

“We are not just building bottles; we are building a home-grown brand,” he wrote in his LinkedIn post. “Thanks to QCO and the inspiration of PM Narendra Modi, we now dream bigger. Startup Mahakumbh gave us the wings and the right ecosystem to grow.”

Recognition from the Union Minister

When Piyush Goyal highlighted their story, Jain called it “a proud moment for Team Nanobot” and said he felt “humbled and grateful” for the recognition. For the team, this acknowledgment is proof that quality products made in smaller Indian cities can get national and even global attention.

Nanobot’s journey reflects a bigger change happening in India’s startup scene. It’s no longer limited to big tech hubs like Bengaluru or Delhi. Today, manufacturing startups from tier-2 and tier-3 cities are making a mark, thanks to government initiatives like Startup Mahakumbh, QCO standards, and DPIIT support.

Nanobot’s focus is not just on selling bottles — it’s on promoting sustainable choices, supporting Indian jobs, and proving that India can be a leader in quality manufacturing. With the growing demand for reusable products worldwide, the company is well-placed to expand while staying true to its Make in India roots.

From a small idea in Jodhpur to being recognised by a Union Minister, Nanobot’s rise is a reminder that with the right vision, hard work, and support, Indian startups can make products that stand shoulder-to-shoulder with global brands.
