Scale Your Biotech Startup with India’s BioVerse Challenge

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and Thermo Fisher Scientific have partnered to launch the BioVerse Challenge, aiming to accelerate India's biotech startup ecosystem by supporting over 500 startups in the next three years

This initiative is part of the government's Startup India program and aims to position India as a global hub for biotechnology innovation, boosting the country's bioeconomy and creating new opportunities for entrepreneurs

The BioVerse Challenge is a nationwide competition designed to identify and support promising biotech startups in sectors like healthcare, diagnostics, genomics, and bio-research

Selected startups will receive mentorship, subsidized R&D; access, and investor support, with 100 high-potential startups receiving intensive aid to transition from lab to market

An additional 400 startups will join the BioVerse Mentors Circle for advanced skill-building, technical training, and access to India's leading bio-incubators

The BioVerse Alumni Network will offer long-term coaching, mentoring, and funding pathways, ensuring sustained growth and development for participating startups

Government and industry leaders emphasize the collaboration's potential to strengthen India's biotechnology ecosystem by combining Thermo Fisher's expertise with Startup India's innovation network

Genome Valley in Hyderabad will serve as a central hub for R&D;, mentorship, and startup acceleration initiatives, reinforcing its role as a strategic center for biotech innovation

The partnership aims to foster innovation, job creation, and export-led growth, positioning India as a leading hub for biotechnology startups globally

Startups in healthcare, diagnostics, genomics, and life sciences will gain critical support, enabling them to scale operations nationally and internationally
